What a week! I have not seen too many people take Tiger to the wire with such style, finesse, and sportsmanship! I watched you today walking down the fairway after your mis-hit during the sudden death playoff. You were still smiling and having fun. I am a new Rocco Mediate fan!

I watched Rocco many years ago at the GHO in Hartford, CT. Coming down the 10th fairway it became known Rocco was wearing two different colored socks. Rocco was having a ball and I became an instant fan. Rocco is an absolute treasure in the world of golf. I always loved him since those GHO days and I always will.

Rocco is a good man. I have never seen a professional athlete show so much positive sportsmanship while competing in an event. He showed so much respect for his opponent as he cheered for him after a great shot. As Rocco walked to the greens he acknowledged the fans cheers and made it known that he was there to have some fun. He had a good run and I hope he will continue to compete. Keep playing Rocco.

I was at the U.S open to see you and Tiger play. I begged my parents to let me see you guy play. I ended up skipping school so, THANK YOU! I skiped a math, science test to just come and see you play! So… lets just say I totally cut school.

Your attitude is from a truly champion and a great person, this was by far the best major of history and not because it lasted long or had great shots by you or Tiger, it was your easy going and your positive attitude even in moments of great stress that really got all of us. I am big fan of Tiger and I really ackowledge yourself with all the respect and sympathy from me.
I wish you only the best and thank you for an enjoyable time.

Congratulations on a very well played US Open. I sincerley believe you played better than any other golfer in the tournament. I was rooting for you from Day 1. I think you, more than any other competetor, made Tiger finally feel “mortal”.
I am also glad that your prior health issues are, if not gone, at least under control. Take some time off, relax, ENJOY!, and pat youself on the back for a job very well done!
I didn’t find golf until I was in my mid forties, my Father died when I was four, but I was told he loved to play golf. Now at age 52, I have found the essence of what golf is really all about. And I LOVE it.
I hope you get a chance to read this, and maybe can send me an autographed picture for inspiration. I am planning on trying to compete begining in September as an amatuer.

I have never had the desire to feedback to any sportsman before but I watched you play 5 days of par golf or better on the toughest layout ever and I had to write to you.I play off 18 but live on a golf course and have the passion but not the ability.
You must be replaying so many of the shots and be so pleased with your effort. You deserve to be proud of yourself. My congratulations on a great and very memorable effort–Well done!

What a great performance. To compete at such a high level under such intense pressure is the hallmark of a champion. Work at the office was brought to a standstill with people crowding around an internet feed. You made the best Monday in office history.
It was a duel that people will never forget. Congratulations, on becoming part of golfing lore. You may not be the champion, but you certainly have made yourself a legend. You displayed both class, skill and grit throughout, inspirational.

What a tremendous performance. The fact that anyone took Tiger to the wire is
a feat in itself, but to be a shorter hitter and be able to hit as many greens as the
best player in the world when you are hitting long irons against his wedges is
simply amazing. Your shot selection was dead on and your strategy was perfect.
The best part about it was the fact that you remained spirited and fans, including
myself, really enjoyed the fact that you talked and joked with competetors and
fans alike. Congratulations to you for such a wonderful effort and show of
sportsmanship throughout the Open. I can’t wait to pull for you in the rest of the
Majors this year!
Way to go! You still have it! You rank among the top of the best of the best!

It was tremendous to see you thrive in the pressure of the US Open against Tiger Woods. I watched your back fail you at the Masters and having back problems myself were hoping that you could overcome at another “Major” opportunity. You were a great sportsman in play and in awaiting the outcome Sunday. A great example for not just for golf but for changing this modern day discourse of “trash” the opponent our the opposing view….BRAVO!! Looking forward to seeing you make more tournament finals in the future and carrying the flag for many of us that don’t give up or in. You “cashed” for a lot of us golfers! Three Cheers!

Hey Rocco,
I always watched and rooted for you throughout your career. It was a pleasure watching you in the U.S. Open. My inlaws only watch golf when I’m around, and they were glued to the tv hoping you would win. I’m sure my dad is smiling in heaven, and would be extremely proud of you! I’m proud of you for being yourself in such an intense situation. I think you handled yourself extremely well. I would love to see you when you’re in the area. Maybe we can tee it up some day.
